Truck strikes motorcycle at Harry Hines and Southwell, killing 1

DALLAS, TX – A passenger on a motorcycle died Friday night in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in northwest Dallas, reports DFW Scanner.

The accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Harry Hines Boulevard and Southwell Road, which is just south of the Asian Trade District.

Police say that a southbound truck struck the northbound motorcycle when the former vehicle turned left onto Southwell Road.

The passenger on the motorcycle died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.

The operator of the motorcycle went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Police arrested the 20-year-old driver of the truck on a DWI charge.

A full investigation is underway.
