Alleged drunk driver rear-ends sedan on I-35W NB near Seminary, killing 5
FORT WORTH, TX – Three adults and two kids died Monday in a two-vehicle accident caused by an alleged DUI driver on the south side of Fort Worth, reports WFAA News 8.
Emergency teams reported to the northbound exit ramp from I-35W to East Seminary Drive just after midnight. This is north of I-20 in the South Wayside area.
Police say that a northbound Camaro, driven by 19-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez, rear-ended a sedan carrying five people on the exit ramp. The impact of the crash caused the sedan to ignite, and all five occupants died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet identified the victims.
Medics transported Gonzalez to the hospital with non-critical injuries. He has since been arrested on charges that include DWI and intoxication manslaughter.
A full investigation is underway.
