Crash involving 2 pickup trucks on TX-171 near Covington kills Christopher Lozano

COVINGTON, TX – A 44-year-old man died last Tuesday in an accident involving two vehicles along the highway in north-central Hill County, reports KWTX 10.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the northbound side of TX-171 near the city of Covington. This is about 48 miles northwest of Waco.

Police say that a Dodge Ram pickup truck crashed into a disabled Chevy pickup up truck along the highway. The collision caused the Chevy pickup up to hit a man who had recently exited the vehicle. The man died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Christopher Lozano.

Officials say that additional people from the disabled Chevy were also standing in the area at the time of the crash, but neither they nor the driver of the Dodge sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
