Pickup rear-ends Gilmer ISD school bus on TX-154, injuring child

GILMER, TX – A child went to the hospital last Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash involving a Gilmer ISD school bus along the highway, reports KLTV 7.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. on State Highway 154 in Gilmer, which is about 127 miles east of Dallas in central Upshur County.

Police say that a pickup truck rear-ended the school bus, which was carrying elementary school students to school.

Medics transported one of the children to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Other kids on the bus complained of pain after the crash but did not require hospitalization.

Authorities haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the collision, nor have they shared any details about the driver of the pickup truck.
