Pedestrian struck, injured at TX-124 and S SE Loop 323 in Tyler

TYLER, TX – A pedestrian went to the hospital Sunday evening after a vehicle struck them at a major intersection on the east side of Tyler, reports CBS 19.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m. at TX-124, or Old Henderson Highway, and South Southeast Loop 323. This is just northeast of Tyler Junior College and Moore Middle School.

It’s not yet clear if the pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway when the crash occurred and if they were using a designated crosswalk.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Police say that the driver involved in the accident did stop to render aid and speak with authorities.

Motorists likely faced significant delays in the area of the crash while emergency teams assisted the victim and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of news writers will keep apprised of the story and report back when we learn more.
