Wrong-way crash on TX-40 in Morris Co. kills 3, injures 4

MORRIS CO., TX – A father and his two children died Saturday in a wrong-way collision along the highway in southern Morris County, reports KETK News.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. along TX-40, which runs east to west through Daingerfield and Mount Pleasant. Officials have not yet provided a cross street or mile marker for the crash.

Police say that an eastbound GMC Yukon entered the westbound lanes of the highway and collided head on with two westbound vehicles.

A Sulphur Springs dad and his two first-grade kids were in one of the westbound vehicles. They sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Authorities have identified the father as Craig Murry.

Medics transported three people from the other westbound vehicle to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

The wrong-way driver went to the hospital with critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
