Alleged DUI driver causes fatal crash at N Collins and NE Green Oaks

ARLINGTON, TX – A 55-year-old Dallas man died Saturday in a head-on crash with an alleged drunk driver on the north side of Arlington, reports Fox 4 News.

The accident happened just after 1 a.m. on North Collins Street near Northeast Green Oaks Boulevard, which is southeast of the Golf Center of Arlington.

Police say that 27-year-old Thomas Kelly Jr. was driving his 2024 Chevy Silverado erratically when he struck a Harley Davidson in the center lane. The motorcyclist, identified as Richard Wing, died at the scene of the collision.

Witnesses observed the driver of the Chevy throw cans from his car after the crash. Kelly Jr. then fled the scene on foot but was soon apprehended by Arlington police.

Authorities arrested Kelly Jr. on charges that include intoxication manslaughter and tampering with evidence.

A full investigation is underway.
