Juvenile killed in hit-and-run pedestrian crash near Stalcup and Cox

FORT WORTH, TX – A 12-year-old boy sustained fatal injuries when a vehicle struck him in a Fort Worth crosswalk just over two weeks ago, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th, on Stalcup Road just south of Cox Street. This is southwest of Sunrise McMillan Elementary School on the southeast side of the city.

Police say that Apollo Rogers was crossing Stalcup Road in a crosswalk when a Jeep Cherokee struck him and fled the scene.

Rogers died after transport to an area hospital.

Authorities located both the vehicle and the driver involved in the crash and issued an arrest warrant. Precious Crosby, 33, turned herself in on Monday, November 25th. She is being charged with collision involving death.

The investigation is ongoing.
