Ronda Ellen Duke, 46, struck, killed in San Antonio crash
SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 46-year-old pedestrian died last Tuesday when a vehicle struck her along a major roadway on the south side of San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Pleasanton Road, near the intersection with West Pyron Avenue. This is just north of Military Plaza in the Harlandale neighborhood.
Officials say that 19-year-old Leo Pinero fled police when they attempted to stop him in connection to a drug investigation. Pinero was speeding when he lost control of his vehicle and hit pedestrian Ronda Ellen Duke on a sidewalk along Pleasonton Road.
Duke died at the scene.
San Antonio Police pursued Pinero on foot, locating and arresting him a short time after. Charges will likely include evasion and murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
