Ernest Uballe, 44, claimed in Lubbock pedestrian crash

LUBBOCK, TX – A 44-year-old man died Sunday from injuries sustained when a vehicle struck him one day prior in southeast Lubbock, reports Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. along 50th Street near Avenue J. This is just west of Marshall Formby Memorial Highway and north of Lewis Park.

Police say the pedestrian, identified as Ernest Uballe, was crossing 50th Street when a westbound car hit him.

Medics transported Uballe to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries approximately six hours later.

It’s not yet clear if the driver, identified as 46-year-old Eric Wells, will face charges in connection to the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
