Kayden Scwartz, 15, claimed in Cameron Co. hit-and-run
SAN BENITO, TX – A 15-year-old boy from Harlingen died Sunday when a vehicle struck him on FM 1846 in central Cameron County, reports KRGV 5.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. near the intersection with County Road 578. This is between San Benito and Rio Hondo and about nine miles east of Harlingen.
Police say the teen was riding his bicycle northbound on FM 1846 when a pickup truck hit him from behind. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop to render aid and speak with officials.
Authorities identified the victim as Kayden Scwartz of Harlingen. They say that Scwartz died at the scene of the crash.
Police are looking for a 2023 to 2025 Ford pickup truck that is an F-250 or larger model with chrome trim and damage to the front end.
