Jason Hart, 29, claimed when vehicle hits Harrison Co. church
HALLSVILLE, TX – A man sustained fatal injuries Monday night following a police chase that ended with a major accident in southwest Harrison County, reports CBS 19.
The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. at a church on Central Street in Hallsville. This is just west of Hallsville City Park.
Police say they began their pursuit on FM 450 near Hallsville Junior High School after observing a car travelling at high speeds and failing to stop at stop signs. The suspect ultimately lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the front of First Baptist Church Hallsville.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified him as Jason Thomas Hart of Gregg County.
Nobody inside of the church was hurt, but the building sustained both internal and external damage.
A full investigation is underway.
