Alejandro De Luna, 40, killed in 2-vehicle rollover in McAllen
MCALLEN, TX – A U.S. Border Patrol agent sustained fatal injuries Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in south-central Hidalgo County, reports ValleyCentral.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on South Ware Road between West August Avenue and Neuhaus Drive, which is just east of McAllen Disc Golf Park, near Champion Lakes Golf Course.
Police say that 40-year-old Alejandro De Luna was headed to work when his Chevy Tahoe collided with a GMC pickup truck. The impact of the crash caused the Tahoe to overturn, and De Luna died after transport to an area hospital.
At least one person from the pickup sustained non-critical injuries and required hospitalization.
There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the wreck.
