Timothy Delgado, 37, struck, killed by train in Levelland
ABILENE, TX – Police are investigating a train accident that killed a 37-year-old pedestrian on Tuesday afternoon in northeast Taylor County, reports everythingLubbock.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on the tracks near South 1st and Shelton Streets in west-central Abilene. This is east of Mockingbird Lane and just southwest of Play Faire Park.
Officials say that Timothy Delgado of Levelland was walking along the train tracks when a train hit him. Delgado was wearing headphones when the crash occurred, so may not have heard the train.
Delgado died at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash.
There’s no indication that the train was derailed as a result of the collision.
A full investigation is underway.
