Susan Komanetsky, 32, claimed in head-on crash with semi

CRANE CO., TX – A 32-year-old Arlington woman died last Wednesday in a wrong-way collision involving an 18-wheeler in east-central Crane County, reports My Texas Daily.

The accident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. on FM 1053 just north of FM 1233. This is northwest of Crane and about 45 miles southwest of Odessa.

Police say that a southbound 2025 Volkswagen Jetta crashed head-on into a northbound 2016 Freightliner Cascadia when a tire blowout caused the truck driver to lose control and veer into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the Jetta, identified as Susan Marie Komanetsky, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the wreck.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
