Jason Owens, 49, killed in El Paso motorcycle crash near Krag St

EL PASO, TX – A 49-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle collision on the far-east side of El Paso, reports KVIA 7.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at Krag Street and Santiesteban Lane in the community of Homestead Meadows South. This is northwest of Estrella Park and east of Adobe Hacienda Dance Hall.

Police say that an eastbound sedan struck a northbound motorcycle when the driver of the sedan neglected to heed a stop sign.

The motorcycle operator, identified as Jason Owens, died after transport to an area hospital.

It’s unclear if the driver of the sedan sustained injuries or if they will face charges in connection to the accident.

Drivers likely faced delays in the area of Krag and Santiesteban Wednesday night while emergency crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
