Johan Dominguez, 4, killed in solo crash near Mopac and 360
AUSTIN, TX – A child died, and several other people sustained injuries early Sunday in a single-vehicle collision along the freeway in south Austin, reports MyTexasDaily.Com.
The fatal incident involved an SUV and occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on the southbound side of Mopac Expressway, just north of South Capital of Texas Highway. This is just east of Barton Creek Square Mall.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound SUV lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Authorities have not yet shared any further details regarding the circumstances of the collision.
A 4-year-old passenger, identified as Johan Dominguez, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Five additional occupants of the SUV went to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
There’s no word yet regarding the driver’s condition at the time of the crash.
