Car vs. bike crash on FM 105 near Vidor kills Lawrence Claypool
ORANGE CO., TX – A 59-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Sunday morning in a crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle in southwestern Orange County.
According to abc 12 News, the accident occurred shortly before noon along FM 105 south of Vidor, which is about 10 miles northeast of Beaumont.
Police say that a southbound bicyclist crossed from the shoulder into a lane of travel, at which point a southbound pickup truck hit him.
The cyclist, identified as Lawrence Claypool, succumbed to his injuries after transport to an area hospital.
Neither the driver nor the passenger in the pickup truck were hurt in the collision.
A full investigation is underway.
