Akeal Brown IDed as victim in crash near Slaughter, I-35
AUSTIN, TX – A 28-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a solo crash along a busy South Austin roadway last Friday morning, reports CBS Austin.
Just after 4 a.m., emergency crews responded to the area of West Slaughter Lane and I-35, or the Monarch Highway. This is just north of Southpark Meadows and south of HEB.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a man lost control of his vehicle and collided with a pole along Slaughter Lane.
The victim, identified as Akeal Nechoma Brown, died at the scene of the accident.
There were no passengers in the vehicle, and there’s no word thus far about Brown’s condition at the time of the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
