Eric Yanez Jr. IDed as victim in Bexar Co. dirt bike crash
SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 34-year-old man sustained fatal injuries earlier this month in a two-vehicle collision in west-central San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.
The accident occurred on Saturday, August 9th, just prior to 8:30 p.m. on Marbauch Avenue, which runs east to west between Southwest 34th Street and Southwest 40th Street in the Los Jardines neighborhood.
Police say that a dirt bike carrying a man and teen rear-ended a pickup truck when the adult operator of the bike tried and failed to pass the truck.
The operator of the dirt bike, identified as Eric Yanez Jr., died at the scene. Yanez was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.
The teen passenger is expected to survive. It’s unclear if he required hospitalization for his injuries.
Nobody in the pickup truck sustained injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
