Aaron Fields, 1 other killed in 2-vehicle crash on E Ledbetter Dr

DALLAS, TX – Two people died Monday night in a two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian along a major roadway in south-central Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on East Ledbetter Drive between I-35 and Rocky Ridge Road. This is just north of Plaza de las Americas Ballroom.

Police say that a pedestrian, identified as 33-year-old Abel Garcia Corbarrubias, was struck and killed when two vehicles collided on Ledbetter.

One of the drivers involved in the accident also sustained fatal injuries when they crashed into a pole. Authorities identified the deceased driver as 72-year-old Aaron Fields.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the accident or the manner in which the two vehicles impacted. Also, it’s unclear if the second driver involved in the collision was hurt.

The crash likely created delays along East Ledbetter while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
