Padre Island crash on Park Rd 22 kills Cassandra Clark
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – One person died, and two others sustained injuries Saturday night in a wrong-way collision on Padre Island, reports KIITV 3 News.
The accident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. near White Cap Beach on Park Road 22. This is is south of the Texas Sealife Center and north of Bob Hall Pier.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a westbound vehicle entered the eastbound side of Park Road 22 near Whitecap Boulevard and collided head on with an eastbound vehicle.
Authorities pronounced the wrong-way driver deceased at the scene. Their name has not yet been released to the public.
Two people form the eastbound vehicle went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
The crash likely caused delays along Park Road 22 on Saturday night while emergency crews worked at the scene.
