Donna Walpole IDed as victim in La Vernia head-on crash

LA VERNIA, TX – A multi-vehicle collision along the highway in northwest Wilson County claimed the life of a 66-year-old woman late last month, reports KSAT 12.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28th, along US-287 near Kelsey Parkway in La Vernia, which is approximately 28 miles southeast of San Antonio.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Ford pickup truck entered the northbound side of the highway and collided with two northbound vehicles — a Chevy Spark and a second Ford pickup.

The driver of the Spark, who has since been identified as Donna Walpole, died at the scene of the crash.

Medics transported one of the other drivers to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

A full investigation is underway. We’ll report back if we learn more about charges.
