Fatality reported in 2-vehicle crash along Watson Rd in Van Ormy

VAN ORMY, TX – An SUV and a sedan collided along a major roadway in the southwest suburbs of San Antonio, killing one man and injuring another.

According to KSAT 12, the two-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday just south of West Verano Parkway on Watson Drive. This is on the northeast side of Van Ormy, about 15 miles southwest of San Antonio.

Police say that the driver of a southbound Honda SUV was likely speeding when he struck a curb, drove over a roundabout, and crashed into a northbound Lincoln sedan.

The driver of the Lincoln sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name but say that he was a man in his 40s.

Medics transported the driver of the SUV to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
