Apartment fire near Frankford and Voss claims brother, sister

DALLAS, TX – A major fire at a two-story apartment building in north Dallas claimed two lives on Saturday morning, reports WFAA News 8.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a burning building in the 4000 block of Frankford Road between Voss and Midway Roads. This is near the Goodwill Store & Donation Center and west of the Dallas North Tollway.

Police haven’t yet determined the cause of the fire, which they say started in a first-floor apartment.

One person from the first-floor unit escaped the building but later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The other victim lost consciousness and died at the scene.

Investigators say the victims appear to have been brother and sister. Their names have not yet been released to the public.

No additional injuries have been reported in connection to the fire.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of news bloggers will keep apprised of the story and post updates if we learn more about the cause of the fire or the identities of the victims.
