Crash involving semi at TX-302, FM 866 claims Derek Pearson

ODESSA, TX – A Bellville man died last Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle collision in central Ector County, reports First Alert 7.

Around 7:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a fatal accident at the intersection of TX-302 and FM 866 at the far northwest corner of Odessa.

Police say that a westbound Ford F-250 collided with a southbound 18-wheeler when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to yield right of way to the pickup truck at the stop sign.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 49-year-0ld Derek Wayne Pearson, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
