Abelardo Garza killed in motorcycle crash at Grimes, Loop 499

HARLINGEN, TX – A 22-year-old man died last Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision in northwest Cameron County, reports Valley Central News.

Emergency crews responded to a fatal accident at the intersection of Grimes Avenue and TX-499 in Harlingen around 10 p.m.

Police haven’t yet shared any details about the crash except to say that it involved both an SUV and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as Abelardo Javier Garza, succumbed to his injuries after transport to an area hospital.

The driver of the SUV stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

No charges have been announced thus far.
