Ana Maria Paniagua IDed as victim in El Paso pedestrian crash
EL PASO, TX – A pedestrian accident claimed the life of a 57-year-old woman in southeast El Paso this past weekend, reports KFOX 14.
The crash occurred Saturday on North Loop Drive near E Road in the Mission Valley area.
Police say that the driver and passenger in a 1999 Ford F350 exited the vehicle after deciding to swap places. The driver neglected to put the car in park, causing it to roll backwards and hit one of the women.
The victim, identified as Ana Maria Paniagua, died after transport to an area hospital.
Authorities say that the other woman, who was initially driving the vehicle, may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
