Officials close Dallas North Tollway due to semi-trailer crash 

DALLAS, TX – Officials had to shut down the southbound lanes on the Dallas North Tollway along Interstate 635 due to a semi-trailer crash that happened Thursday.

Texas Department of Public Safety told NBCDFW that the incident unfolded when the driver of the semi-trailer crashed into the interstate bridge, causing the load, an industrial-sized oven weighing 34,000 pounds, from the truck to spill onto the southbound lanes.

Authorities closed the road for an extended period of time, and transportation crews diverted traffic from the tollway onto the exit toward Interstate 635 West. During the closures, the North Texas Tollway Authority informed the public, including NBC 5, that drivers should expect delays as crews worked to remove the truck’s oven and restore safe road conditions.

No injuries or citations have been reported at this time.
