3-car crash at Yukon and Andrews Hwy kills teen, injures 2 others

ODESSA, TX – A multi-vehicle crash near Odessa Schlemeyer Field Airport killed a 17-year-old boy and injured two others last Wednesday, reports News West 9.

The accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Yukon Road and Andrews Highway, which is on the north side of the city.

Police say that a westbound Grey Pontiac collided with an eastbound Ford 350 when the driver of the former vehicle turned south without yielding right-of-way. A gray Honda was also struck during the collision.

Authorities pronounced the passenger in the Pontiac deceased at the scene of crash.

Medics transported the teen driver that caused the accident and the driver of the Ford to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
