Elderly man struck, killed along Huebner Rd in NW San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 78-year-old man died last Wednesday when a vehicle struck him along a busy roadway in northwest San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. on Huebner Road near the intersection with Eckhert Road. This is just northwest of University Health University Hospital.

Police say a pickup truck hit Farhad Al Ali as he was crossing Huebner Road outside of a designated crosswalk. It was dark at the time of the crash, and authorities say Ali may have been intoxicated. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck stopped to render aid and speak with police.

Motorists likely encountered delays while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
