Hit-and-run vehicle strikes, kills man in wheelchair at Abrams and E NW Hwy

DALLAS, TX – A man died Sunday when a vehicle struck him at a busy intersection in northeast Dallas before fleeing the scene, reports Fox 4 KDFW.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Abrams Road and East Northwest Highway, which runs through the east side of the Medallion Shopping Center.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing Abrams in a wheelchair when the unidentified car hit him. It’s unclear if the victim was using a designated crosswalk when the crash occurred.

Authorities pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. They’ve not yet released the victim’s name to the public.

The driver involved in the accident did not stop to render aid and speak with police.

A full investigation is underway. Anyone who may have seen the incident can contact the Dallas Police Department to share information and tips.
