Amarillo motorcyclist killed in 2-vehicle crash at I-40 and Bell

AMARILLO, TX – A 19-year-old motorcyclist died earlier this month in a two-vehicle crash on the west side of Amarillo, reports News Channel 10.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. on Monday, November 4th, at the intersection of Bell Street and the eastbound frontage road of I-40. This is just northwest of Olsen Park Elementary School and southeast of Amarillo Botanical Gardens.

Police say that a southbound black 2009 Kawasaki sport motorcycle and an eastbound 2003 Dodge Ram pickup collided in the intersection. It’s unclear which vehicle had the right of way at the time of the crash.

Authorities pronounced the motorcyclist, identified as Landon McGinnis, deceased at the scene.

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
