Scott Cavitt, 44, killed in auto-pedestrian accident along Cullen Blvd

HOUSTON, TX – A 44-year-old man lost his life last Friday night when a vehicle struck him along a busy roadway in south-central Houston, reports MyTexasDaily.

The accident occurred just before 9 p.m. on the south side of Cullen Boulevard near Almeda Genoa Road in the Holloway Heights area.

Police say that Scott Cavitt was walking in the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk when a southbound Chevy Silverado hit him. Cavitt died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene but returned soon after to speak with authorities. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.

Motorists likely faced delays along Cullen Boulevard Friday while emergency teams worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
