Barkat Ali Ismail struck and killed, another hurt in Plano collision

PLANO, TX – One pedestrian died, and another sustained injuries Tuesday when they were hit by a car following a two-vehicle collision in northwest Plano.

According to NBC DFW 5, the accident happened in the morning at the intersection of Parkwood Boulevard and Legacy Drive, which is just east of The Shops at Legacy East.

The investigation indicates that a Ford Bronco entered the sidewalk at the intersection after colliding with a Kia Kiro. The Bronco struck two pedestrians on the sidewalk.

One of the pedestrians, identified as 75-year-old Barkat Ali Ismail, died after transport to an area hospital.

The other pedestrian went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

None of the occupants of the cars involved in the crash sustained injuries.

No charges have been filed so far.

A full investigation is underway.
