Kristina Chambers charged with manslaughter for 2023 collision

HOUSTON, TX – Late last week, a jury found a woman guilty of manslaughter in connection to a 2023 pedestrian crash that killed a man on his first date.

According to abc 13, Kristina Chambers was drunk and speeding when she struck Joseph McMullins around 2:30 a.m. on April 19th outside of Voodoo Donuts in the 1200 block of Westheimer Road.

McMullins sustained fatal injuries.

Evidence presented in court indicated that Chambers had been drinking at several bars just prior to the crash and that her blood alcohol level was four times higher than the legal limit. Additionally, surveillance footage depicted Chambers driving her Porsche recklessly and travelling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident.

On Monday, a judge sentenced Chambers to just over 11 years in prison for manslaughter.

Chambers will ultimately serve anywhere between 2 and 20 years.
