1 airlifted, 1 deceased in Gunter area collision on Preston Rd
GRAYSON CO., TX – A fatality has been reported in the aftermath of a wrong-way crash along TX-289 in southwest Grayson County, reports KXII 12.
The accident occurred sometime around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday between Foy Wallace Road and Little Elm Creek Road, which is just south of Gunter and around 41 miles northwest of Plano.
Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the collision, nor have they released a description of the vehicles involved.
Medics airlifted one person from the scene to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
One of the drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. That person’s name has not yet been released to the public.
Officials closed TX-289, or Preston Road, for around three hours while emergency crews assisted the victims, gathered evidence, and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
