Two-car crash at MLK Jr, Stan Roberts kills William Beschle

EL PASO, TX – An elderly man sustained fatal injuries Monday in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in far-north El Paso, reports KFOX 14.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to an accident at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, or FM 3255, and Stan Roberts Senior Avenue. This is just south of the Texas and New Mexico state line.

Police say that a northbound Ford F-350 pickup truck struck a northbound Hyundai Tucson SUV when the driver of the latter vehicle turned in front of the pickup truck while making a right turn from the left lane.

The driver of the SUV, identified as 78-year-old William Beschle of Chaparral, New Mexico, died after transport to an area hospital.

Authorities have not announced any additional injuries, and no charges are pending at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
