Pedestrian hospitalized after crash involving Dallas PD car 

DALLAS, TX – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital after a crash involving a Dallas Police Department car on Wednesday, Fox4News said. 

The crash happened before 11 p.m. along Denton Drive near the Dallas Police Department. The source said that a man was walking outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a Dallas police cruiser. 

The officer who drove the vehicle told investigators it was dark at the time of the crash and did his best to try to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but ultimately could not avoid a collision.

The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a hospital. 

The events leading to the pedestrian collision remain under investigation.
