Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on I-20 WB in Terrell

TERRELL, TX – A 24-year-old man died Sunday after a vehicle struck him along the interstate in north-central Kaufman County, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident happened sometime around 12:40 a.m. on the westbound side of I-20 near the intersection with West British Flying School Boulevard in Terrell.

Police say they received calls just before the accident from drivers concerned about a man standing in a westbound lane of I-20. Soon after, a driver notified police that they had hit the pedestrian in the roadway.

The victim, identified as Otavius Demond Rose, died at the scene of the crash.

It’s unclear why Rose was standing in the roadway at the time of the accident, and there’s no word yet regarding charges.

A full investigation is underway.
