Multi-vehicle crash on Hwy 69 near Bells kills 2 teens, 1 child

GRAYSON CO., TX – A multi-vehicle crash along a highway in southeast Grayson County killed a 13-year-old, a 10-year-old, and 14-year-old on Friday.

According to KLTV 7 and Tyler Morning Telegraph, the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Highway 69 near Penny Road, which is between Bells and Whitewright.

Police say that a southbound Hyundai Elantra struck a southbound Ford F-150 before entering the northbound side of the highway and colliding with a Chevy Silverado. The driver of the Hyundai had initially entered the southbound shoulder to avoid rear-ending the vehicle ahead. The first accident happened when the Hyundai re-entered the highway.

Three juveniles from the Hyundai — two boys and a girl — died from injuries sustained in the accident.

It’s unclear if any of the three drivers involved in the crash were hurt.

A full investigation is underway.
