Arlington toddler struck, killed in parking lot of apartment complex on N Cooper St

ARLINGTON, TX – A two-year-old boy died last Monday night when a vehicle struck him in a parking lot in central Arlington, reports Fox 4 KDFW.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot for an apartment complex on North Cooper Street, which runs north to south from Northwest Green Oaks Boulevard to TX-303. Officials have not yet provided a cross street.

Police say the child exited his home without his family’s knowledge. As he was walking in the parking lot of the apartment complex after dark, a pickup truck hit him.

The driver allegedly stopped but did not see the child in the roadway and left the scene.

The boy died from his injuries.

Authorities located and spoke with the driver of the pickup truck. At this time, it’s unclear if he will face charges in connection to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
