Kentate Hubbard, 45, claimed in El Paso rear-end crash

EL PASO, TX – A 45-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in north-central El Paso, reports KFOX 14.

The crash occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on the southbound side of Gateway South Boulevard, just south of Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive. This is near the Walmart Supercenter and Camp Cohen Waterpark.

Police say that a southbound 2021 GMC Sierra crashed into the back of a 1994 Peterbilt dump truck hauling sand.

Authorities pronounced the driver of the Sierra deceased at the scene. They identified the victim as Kentate Lamon Hubbard.

The driver of the dump truck did not sustain injuries in the collision.

Officials say Hubbard was likely speeding at the time of the wreck. Low visibility and high winds may have been secondary factors.

A full investigation is underway.
