Man found guilty in 2024 Fort Worth-Dallas pursuit-turned-crash that killed veteran Joel Justino

FORT WORTH & DALLAS, TX – A Dallas County jury found a man guilty in connection with a 2024 Fort Worth and Dallas pursuit-turned-crash that killed a military veteran.

The guilty man, 35-year-old Devonte Webber, is also expected to face a life in prison, NBC Dallas-Forth Worth reports.

The Back Story: The incident began with a police pursuit that began in Fort Worth and ended when Webber, operating a stolen vehicle, drove on the wrong-lane on Interstate 35 Service Road and crashed into a vehicle driven by the military veteran, 36-year-old Joel Jusino, from Chicago.

Jusino, who served in the U.S. Airforce, succumbed to his injuries.

Law enforcement arrested Webber. He was charged with “murder and evading arrest with a vehicle causing death.”

The jury verdict was returned late last week.
