Woman killed, Houston PD officer hospitalized following Eastex Freeway collision
HOUSTON, TX – A female driver lost her life and a Houston police officer was sent to the hospital following a collision on the Eastex Freeway on Wednesday.
According to WFAA, the crash happened before 10:45 p.m. near Cavalcade Street. The incident began when a load fell from a heavy truck on Interstate 610 and made its way below on the Eastex Freeway.

The pickup truck driver died from her injuries, and the police officer sustained unspecified injuries.
Ambulance crews rushed the police officer to a hospital for treatment. He is expected to be okay.
