Dump truck, car collide in SW Waco, killing Alexus McCormick

WACO, TX – A 20-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries last Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision involving a dump truck on the southwest side of Waco, reports Fox 44 News.

The accident occurred around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Speegleville Road and McLennan Crossing Road, which is south of Hog Creek and north of Landmark Baptist Church.

Police say that a southbound dump truck collided with a Chevy Malibu when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to yield right of way at the intersection.

The driver of the Malibu, identified as Alexus McCormick of Waco, died after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported the dump truck driver to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Motorists encountered delays in the area of Speegleville and McLennan Crossing while emergency crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
